Pride Month has officially kicked off at the University of Toronto, with the Progress Pride flag raised on June 5th across all three campuses to mark the occasion.

Spaces & Experiences also celebrates Pride every year, and this year’s Co-chairs of the S&E Equity and Diversity Event Committee, Telisha Mensah and Ivan Canete made sure that our festivities were an exciting afternoon of celebration, connection and community.

Pride event 2025

Over 90 S&E staff members came together to celebrate and honour the 2SLGBTQIA+ community at U of T with delicious food, great music, and vibrant live entertainment—featuring the return of the always fabulous Drag Queens Messy Margaret and Sanjina.

The S&E Pride Celebration took place on Wednesday, June 5 at the Schwartz Reisman Innovation Campus. It was open to colleagues across the S&E portfolios as well as tenants in the Schwartz Reisman Innovation Campus West building and, as always, it was a joyful opportunity to come together, connect with colleagues and celebrate Pride in an inclusive and welcoming space.

In addition to the special Pride programming, food and entertainment, S&E has a longstanding, annual tradition of creating a special capsule collection for Pride at U of T,” The Pride collection is available at the St.George, UTSC and UTM bookstores and online year-round.

The 2025 merchandise collection was modelled at the event by members of the U of T Drag Club, a group of students dedicated to celebrating the artistry and empowerment of Drag Culture. The U of T Drag Club provides a safe space to explore drag workshops and produce shows. Spaces & Experiences was delighted to incorporate the club into this year’s festivities at the Schwartz Reisman Innovation Campus and looks forward to many more future celebrations of Pride in the future.

The 2025 Pride collection is currently available in-store and online.
