S&E Student Residences and Food Services are hiring student content creators for the 2025/26 academic year.
As a Social Squad member you will create engaging social media content for your student peers, such as video reels and photo diaries. The content that you create will be shared on the official U of T S&E accounts: @UofTSEResidences, @UofT_Food and @UofT_SE.
Squad members will film, create and edit their own content. This means you must be comfortable being on camera.
In your role you will:
• Capture high quality video clips and photographs
• Edit your content using creative suites, such as Canva or CapCut
• Respond to creative feedback and make edits as needed
• Submit content to meet required deadlines
• Attend a monthly brainstorming meeting with the rest of the Social Squad and the S&E Marketing Team
You will create a minimum of one piece of content per month, as agreed with the Marketing team. There may also be opportunities to support with photoshoots and events.
You don’t need any special equipment, just a phone and a passion for content creation!
Content examples
You’ll create content individually and with the rest of the team, covering a variety of themes that explore student life. This could include:
Student Residences: room tours, showcasing events, wellness tips, student stories and sharing your experience of living in a student residence.
Food Services: new foodie spots, highlighting menu updates, Dining Commons/Food Hall tours and sharing your favourite places to eat on campus.
• $75 TBucks stipend per month, totaling a potential $525 over the course of your contract*.
• Official U of T Co-Curricular Record.
*Awarded upon successful completion of required monthly tasks.
You’ll also get:
• Free tickets to Food Services events, such as Mac ‘n’ Cheese Smackdown.
• Hands-on content creation experience.
• Mentorship and support from experienced marketing staff.
• Opportunities to upskill and learn valuable social media expertise.
Requirements
• Basic experience of content creation, including filming and editing videos.
• Strong knowledge of current Instagram and TikTok trends.
